MISSION STATEMENT
To
operate soccer programs where young people develop a positive self image,
self confidence, and other positive character traits through their
interest and participation in soccer, based upon these AYSO philosophies.
EVERYONE PLAYS
Our goal is for
kids to play soccer. So we
mandate that every player on every team must play at least half of every
game.
BALANCED TEAMS
Each year we form
teams as evenly balanced as possible - because it’s more fun when teams
of equal ability play.
POSITIVE
COACHING
Kids win when
they are built up, not when they are torn down! We train and encourage our
coaches to make the extra effort to understand and offer positive help to
our players, rather than negative criticism.
OPEN
REGISTRATION
Our programs are
open to all children between the ages of 4-1/2 and 18 who want to register
to play soccer. Interest and enthusiasm are the only criteria for playing.
GOOD
SPORTSMANSHIP
We strive to
create a positive environment based on mutual respect, rather than a
win-at-all-cost attitude. All our programs must be designed to instill
good sportsmanship in every facet of AYSO.
“COMMITTED
TO KIDS”
is a motto used by many regions in AYSO. This phrase is our guide in
decision making. We need to keep reminding ourselves that AYSO soccer is
recreational and developmental. “Winning Kids” comes first and winning
games comes second.
AYSO
is an all volunteer organization. We need parents to become very involved
in every aspect of the program. Training and support programs are
available.
Regional
Board meetings are generally held on the third Thursday of each month at
Our Savior Lutheran School beginning at 7:30 pm. Call one of the board
members to confirm the date, place and time.
