Player Equipment


AYSO will provide a numbered jersey, short, and sock which will be given to the player at the beginning of the season. Please review the uniform care instructions found on the label.

 For games, each player must be dressed as follows:

          Issued jersey tucked into the shorts

          Issued shorts

          Issued socks worn over the shin guards

        Shin guards worn against the skin. (A second pair of socks may be worn against the skin).

          Regulation soccer shoes or sneakers. Soccer shoes with rubber cleats are recommended for U10 to U19. Baseball shoes or other athletic shoes with a front toe cleat are not permitted.

        -   If Bike shorts are worn, they must be the same color as the issued shorts and must be worn below the issued shorts.

The player cannot wear bracelets, earrings, rings, wrist watches, barrettes, or any other such object which may be harmful to themselves or to others. Bandage over earrings, are not allowed. Fingernails should be short. The referee will check players before each game.

Shin guards are MANDATORY for practice and games. Soft foam shin guards are not recommended. Players may wear soft knee or elbow pads. Goal keepers may wear “warm up” pants or goal keeper pants. and may also use gloves.

 Players will not be allowed to practice or play in games with any type of cast or splint (including padded casts).

 Additional clothing such as jackets, shirts, and long pants may not be worn over the uniform while the player is participating in a game except as noted above. Players not attired in proper uniform will not be allowed to play until properly dressed.

 It is recommended that each player have a soccer ball for home practice. It need not be an expensive ball. Most coaches will want each player to bring his/her own ball to practice.
