Coaching Program

Because "Positive Coaching" is one of AYSO's guiding philosophies, coach training is one of our highest priorities. AYSO also provides a wide range of courses to continue instructing its volunteer coaches.

No Experience? No Problem

• Our volunteer coaches receive complete training right from the beginning!
• Training and certification for all coaches.
• Age-specific coaching courses provide training for coaches of every level of experience.
• Complete with manuals, handouts and outlines that are continually reviewed and updated.

U-6, U-8 ,U-10 and U12 Coach Training Required for Fall 2017

All AYSO coaches in the U-6, U-8, U-10 and U12 divisions are now required to have age-appropriate training and AYSO Safe Haven certification when they take the field. It is a part of AYSO's coach training policy.

Have You Taken Concussion Training?

AYSO's official concussion policy encourages all coaches to take the Center for Disease Control's (CDC) free online concussion training. This course will help coaches better understand concussions, become more familiar with the signs and symptoms and learn more ways to keep your players safe from season-to-season.

After you take the training, save a copy of your Certificate of Completion, and forward it to the Safe Haven Department at the National Office, where training records will be updated.
